Warners Horror & Sci-Fi DVD on Demand

ssssThe Blood-Spattered Scribe points us to the Warner Brothers Archive, where you can order DVD on demand. What this means is that WB will burn a professional copy of a DVD you order, complete with artwork, and ship it to you, all for $19.95. Presumably, the strategy here is that there is not enough demand for some older title to justify printing thousands of DVDs, but doing them one at a time can be profitable at the right price. The downside of this approach is that, although the films are mastered from the best elements available, there is no effort to restore or improve them for DVD presentation.
There are over 200 titles available. Unfortunately, only a handful of them are listed under science fiction and horror, and some of those seem to be inaccurately categoriezed: CRESCENDO (a thriller), CRISIS (with Cary Grant), THE KISS (a silent film with Greta Garbo), MY BLOOD RUNS COLD, BRAINSTORM (from 1965 – not the sci-fi film directed by Douglas Trumball).
If you look under other categories , you will find more genre-oriented titles, like CAPTAIN NEMO AND THE UNDERWATER and DOC SAVAGE.
