The scientific facts may be irrelevant to your metaphoric use of the myth that bumble bees defy the laws of physics, but I cannot help myself from being pedantic.
This belief arises from a misunderstanding of how bumble bees fly. If you think of them like a fixed-wing airplane, then they seem to be aerodynamically unsound, because their wing span is too small to support their body size.
However, bumblebee flight is actually more akin to a helicopter: their rapidly beating wings generate all the lift necessary.
