'The Cape' Airs Again Tonight

For those who missed last night’s premiere of THE CAPE, there’s another chance to tune in tonight (January 10th). At 9:00 PM NBC will re-broadcast the pilot, followed by the episode ‘Tarot’.
The series, which stars David Lyons as the framed policeman turned costumed crime-fighter and FIREFLY’s Summer Glau as his crime blogger/techie assistant will air new episodes begining next Monday at 9:00 PM.
Maybe I’ll tune in myself, as I skipped it last night. To be honest, I haven’t been able to generate much enthusiasm for watching the series, judging from the promos shown thus far.

Vinnie Jones Will Fight 'The Cape'

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Vinnie Jones
(X-MEN: LAST STAND) has joined the cast of NBC’s
THE CAPE as a regular.

Jones will play a freakish criminal named ‘Scales’ on the series, a man with a skin condition that looks like green and gold scales.
A snake-man? A Killer Croc clone?
Guess we’ll have to tune in to find out.
Vinnie Jones joins a cast that includes stars David Lyons (ER), Summer Glau (FIREFLY) along with Keith David (SPAWN) and James Frain (INVASION).
The series is produced by Gail Berman (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER [TV]), Lloyd Braun (VIRTUALITY), and Tom Wheeler (EMPIRE) for Universal Media Studios.

'The Cape' – 1st Trailer

Here’s a trailer and NBC’s official description of their ‘real-world’ superhero series, THE CAPE.

“THE CAPE is a one-hour drama series starring David Lyons (“ER”) as Vince Faraday, an honest cop on a corrupt police force, who finds himself framed for a series of murders and presumed dead.
He is forced into hiding, leaving behind his wife, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin, “Life on Mars”) and son, Trip (Ryan Wynott, “Flash Forward”). Fueled by a desire to reunite with his family and to battle the criminal forces that have overtaken Palm City, Faraday becomes “The Cape” his son’s favorite comic book superhero — and takes the law into his own hands.
Rounding out the cast are James Frain (“The Tudors”) as billionaire Peter Fleming — The Cape’s nemesis — who moonlights as the twisted killer: Chess; Keith David (“Death at a Funeral”) as Max Malini, the ringleader of a circus gang of bank robbers who mentors Vince Faraday and trains him to be The Cape, Summer Glau (“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) as Orwell, an investigative blogger who wages war on crime and corruption in Palm City; and Dorian Missick (“Six Degrees”) as Marty Voyt, a former police detective and friend to Faraday.
“The Cape” is a Universal Media Studios and BermanBraun production from executive producer/creator Thomas Wheeler (“Empire”), executive producer/director Simon West (“Con Air”), the executive producing team of Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun (NBC’s “Mercy), and executive producer Gene Stein (“Accidentally on Purpose”).

Summer Glau joins The Cape

Hollywood Reporter tells us that actress Summer Glau has been cast in THE CAPE, a TV pilot for NBC about a former cop (David Lyons) who, after being framed as a criminal, becomes a masked superhero in order to clear his name. Glau’s role is Orwell, “a cute and intrepid investigative blogger” who is capable of “kicking ass” when the situation requires it.
HR writer Nellie Andreeva dryly notes that Glau “has probably starred in more cult sci-fi series than any other actress, with with stints on Fox’s Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Dollhouse.
