Magnet Releasing is opening this period horror film in limited engagements around the country; it is already available via Video on Demand. The story is set during the time of the titular plague; a knight (Sean Bean) and a monk (Eddie Redmayne) travel to a village unaffected by the disease. (Sounds a bit like SEASON OF THE WITCH.) The director is Christopher Smith, who did a great job with SEVERANCE a few years back (it’s one of the great horror films you’ve never seen – and it’s a good black comedy, too). David Warner, Carice van Houten, Kimberley Nixon, Tim McInnerny, and John Lynch fill out the cast. Dario Poloni wrote the script.
