Here’s the full trailer for CONAN THE BARBARIAN. Looks like plenty of swords and a nice amount of sorcery.
This new film of Robert E. Howard’s pulp character stars Jason Momoa (STARGATE: ATLANTIS), Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang (AVATAR), Rose McGowan (CHARMED), Saïd Taghmaoui, Ron Perlman (HELLBOY), Katarzyna Wolejnio, Leo Howard, Steve O’Donnell, Raad Rawi, and Nonso Anozie.
Directed by Marcus Nispel, from a screenplay by Thomas Dean Donnelly, Joshua Oppenheimer, and Sean Hood CONAN invades theaters August 19th, in normal and 3-D versions.

Jason Momoa on 'Conan The Barbarian'
MTV interviewed Jason Momoa about CONAN THE BARBARIAN, and the actor confirmed that the new film does contain an origin story.
“It’s rebuilding and rebooting the franchise…It starts with his birth, what happened to his family, what happened to his father—obviously his father is killed—and him going into the pirating and the thieving and wandering and being the degenerate that he is and then usurping a throne and finding out who killed his father.
It’s a revenge story, with a little bit a love in there.”

Lionsgate announced that CONAN will be released August 19th, 2011, in standard and 3-D versions.

CONAN To Feature Supernatural
—Co-star Reveals Fantasy Element—
Steven Lang (AVATAR), who plays the warlord Khalar Singh in Lionsgate / Millenium Flim’s CONAN, told MTV that the new film will feature the supernatural as well as action.
“If you read Robert Howard — of course the ‘Conan’ stories and novellas — magic, (the) supernatural plays a huge, huge part in them: fakirs and magicians and wizards all over the place… So magic is part of that world. The magic in this film, there’s a lot of it and there’s a lot of action-magic as well, a lot of magical fighting.”
His own character’s fights will demonstrate swordmanship, rather than sorcery, however.
“My fighting is not magical… My fighting is just brutal.”
CONAN stars STARGATE: ATLANTIS’s Jason Momoa in the title role.
Marcus Nispel directs from a screenplay by Thomas Dean Donnelly, Sean Hood , and Joshua Oppenheimer.
No specific release date has been set, though it’s expected to premiere in 2011.

CONAN Looks To Come Out Swinging
Krom! It seems fans of the CONAN series are relegated to being tantalized by the new film one picture at a time. Just released is this new photo of star Jason Momoa in action and while it doesn’t give any hints about the upcoming installment, one thing we do know for sure – we would hate to be on the opposite end of that sword swing!
Though a specific release date has not been set, look for the film to make it’s big screen debut in 2011.
