AMC Theaters’ website seemed to confirm that there would indeed be a  six-minute prologue for Warner Brothers Pictures THE DARK KNIGHT RISES shown before  Paramount Pictures’ early IMAX release of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL on December 16th.
However, this apparent confirmation of the internet rumor was quickly taken down from the website, with an advisory that Warner Brothers be contacted for information regarding THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
What’s the real story? Stay tuned…

Batman: Arkham City: New York Comic Con 2011 Video

Scroll down for the HD video.

The lunatics have taken over the Gotham, and fans of the Dark Knight are all asking, “Why didn’t this happen sooner?” Their patience has been paid off in BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY, a new video game that takes the mayhem first encountered in BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM and spreads it out into Gotham City proper, to considerable praise (and probably some orgasmic moans) from gameplayers everywhere. We got a few minutes with a representative from game designer Rocksteady Studios to find out what motivated the new game’s broader canvas, and explore what happens when chaos reigns in the Caped Crusader’s home turf (as if it doesn’t always).

Fliming 'DKR' Catwoman Scene—Clip

Tow-car fliming of Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) on the ‘Batpod’ recumbent motorcycle in Pittsburg, doubling for Gotham City in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
Several desert camoflage-painted Tumblers, presumed to be under the control of Bane’s (Tom Hardy’s) forces, along with other military equipment, can be seen in the taped sequences.
The Warner Brothers Pictures’ film wrapped its Pittsburg location filming this weekend.

1st Official Pic of Selina Kyle

Warner Brothers Pictures released this first official picture of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
Looks to me like she’s riding the “Bat Pod” motorcycle from THE DARK KNIGHT. Is she working with the Batman or just stealing his ride?

'Dark Knight Rises' Location Shoot

A big battle scene for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES was shot on location in Pittsburg, on and around the campus of Carnagie Mellon’s Mellon Institute.

Christan Bale as Batman and Tom Hardy as Bane were there, coming to grips with each other, as were (reportedly) Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as Gotham City policeman John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, Wayne Enterprises employee.

Three military-painted Tumblers (the vehicle used as the Batmobile) were also sighted, with Hardy’s Bane atop one in one photo.

As Bane and others are wearing winter coats, I think we can assume that the material falling is supposed to be snow, rather than ash or debris.

'Dark Knight Rises' — Teaser

Due to formating issues this won’t play on our front page.
Advertisment will play first.
This first look at THE DARK KNIGHT RISES uses a mix of footage from BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT as well as new scenes of hospitalized James Gordon (Gary Oldman) speaking to an offscreen presence (Christian Bale), imploring him that “the Batman must come back”.
“What if he doesn’t exist anymore?” is the answer.
We then see glimpses of Bane (Tom Hardy) and a water-drenched, battered Batman struggling to face his opponent.
Looks like the stakes are high in this final Batman film from director  Christopher Nolan.

'The Dark Knight Rises' Begins

According to their Press Release:

batman_begins_CUPrincipal photography has begun on Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises,” the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.

In helming “The Dark Knight Rises,” Christopher Nolan is utilizing IMAX® cameras even more extensively than he did on “The Dark Knight,” which had marked the first time ever that a major feature film was partially shot with IMAX® cameras. The results were so spectacular that the director wanted to expand the use of the large-format cameras for this film.
The screenplay for “The Dark Knight Rises” is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is being produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster “The Dark Knight.” The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Batman was created by Bob Kane.
Behind the scenes, “The Dark Knight Rises” reunites the director with several of his longtime collaborators, all of whom worked together on the “The Dark Knight.” The creative team includes director of photography Wally Pfister, who recently won an Oscar® for his work on Nolan’s “Inception”; production designer Nathan Crowley; editor Lee Smith; and Oscar®-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (“Topsy-Turvy”). In addition, Paul Franklin and Chris Corbould, who both won Oscars® for the effects in “Inception,” will supervise the visual and special effects, respectively. The music will be composed by Oscar® winner Hans Zimmer (“The Lion King”).
The locations for “The Dark Knight Rises” span three continents and include the American cities of Pittsburgh, New York and Los Angeles, as well as sites in India, England and Scotland.
“The Dark Knight Rises” is a presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with Legendary Pictures. Slated for release on July 20, 2012, the film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

'Inception' Stars Cast in 'Dark Knight Rises'

batman_Dark Knight suitAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Brothers offically announced that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and  Marion Cotillard have joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
The studio called the film the “conclusion of the Dark Knight legend”, again confirming that this will be the last in this particular series of Batman films.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play the role of Gotham City patrolman John Blake, chosen by Commisioner Gordon for a special assignment.  Fans had speculated that Gordon-Levitt might portray one of the comic book’s incomic villains, but this appears not to be the case.
Marion-Cotillard-InceptionMarion Cotillard’s role will be Miranda Tate, a member of the Wayne Enterprises board, who apparently wants to help Bruce Wayne take up the civic and philanthropic activities his murdered parents were once known to pursue.
