Quarantine at Knott's Scary Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm’s annual Halloween Haunt sometimes features attractions inspired by (read: intended to promote) current and upcoming horror films. 2008 is no exception, with a new walk-through maze based on QUARANTINE, which is scheduled for release on October 10. Based on the Spanish film [REC], QUARANTINE follows a camera crew assigned to the fire department; a call leads them to a building where the residents have been infected with something that turns them into zombies. (We’re not sure they’re the living dead, but if 28 DAYS LATER can be called a zombie film, then so can this.)
QUARANTINE uses the fashionable you-are-there POV camera style previously seen in BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, CLOVERFIELD, DIARY OF THE DEAD, and REDACTED. This technique was easy to duplicate on a trip through the maze on Knott’s Scary Farm’s opening night – Thursday, September 25. Quarantine turned out to be a highlight – short but intense, with lots of action. If the movie lives up to the maze, it will be a winner.
