Night of the Creeps coming to DVD

Night of the Creeps (1986)ShockTillYouDrop.com reports that NIGHT OF THE CREEPS – director Fred Dekker’s cult film tribute to sci-fi horror films – is finally coming to DVD after years of waiting by fans:

Red Shirt Pictures’ Michael Felsher – who has produced a good deal of terrific genre discs – is spearheading the special features. Here’s what he had to tell Dead Pit Radio: “It is coming out officially for the first time ever. Fred Dekker is already working on it, It’s going to be the director’s cut with the original ending. We’re going to go balls to the wall with the special features on it…I talked to Sony today its official, we’re going ahead and its coming out in October! It’s officially In production…and moving forward, its coming!”

NIGHT OF THE CREEPS was the first film from Dekker, who went on to direct MONSTER SQUAD and ROBOCOP 3. NIGHT – which is set in a small town where creepy slugs invade human hosts, turning them into zombies – received little if any theatrical distribution when it was completed back in 1986, but it earned itself a cult reputation based on its affectionate approach to the genre, which included naming characters after famous horror directors (Romero, Carpenter, Hooper, Landis, Raimi).
