News: Return of Dr. Who? Well, not so much.

Catherine Tate as the Doctor's assistant Donna Noble with David Tennant who plays The Doctor pic: BBC The Richmond & Twickenham Times has posted a reather misleadingly titled article: Tate stokes Doctor Who return rumours. The implication is that actress Catherine Tate, who played the Time Lord’s most recent traveling companion, has said something to indicate that the series, currently on hiatus, will return. In fact, all Tate says is that, if the writers could figure out a way to bring her character back (after her memory was wiped clean at the end of the last season), she would be interested.
Tate offers no hint that this is actually happening; she is obviously offering a “what if” scenario to let fans know that she enjoyed her time on the show and was sorry to see it end.

Tate said: “I knew that there would definitely be an end to Donna, at the end of the series.

“But had that not been the case, had it been open-ended, had there been potential for Donna to stay for another series, I must confess that I’d have said ‘yes’ like a shot.”

Speaking about the possibility of Donna returning despite the mind wipe Tate added: “Could Donna come back? Well, in science fiction anything is possible.”
