The 20 Scariest Movies of All Time: EW.com offers their selections. Inevitably, a few dubious titles make the list – not that they’re bad, but when you’re calling the list the “scariest of all time,” the films included should be absolutely, undoubtedly among the best ever, and I just don’t think that THE RING (2002) and POLTERGEIST comes close to qualifying. Also, the inclusion of AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON qualify and 28 DAYS LATER strikes me as rather generous, although I enjoy both films. And somebody will have to explain to me how the list could include John Carpenter’s THE THING but not ALIEN.

Apparently, she is on a William Girdler kick; recently, she also reviewed the director’s previous rip-off ABBY (a blaxploitation version of THE EXORCIST).
DAY OF THE DEAD: Lucisu Gore reviews the direct-to-video “remake” of the 1985 George Romero film. Surprisingly, he gives the new version a thumbs-up. Judging from this post, The Blood-Spattered Scribe will be happy to hear the news. The Vault of Horror, on the other hand, offers a contrary opinion.
