“In Love with the Dead,” starring Shawn Yue and Stephy Tang, continues Pang’s unique style in a chilling, yet thought-provoking, thriller. In the film, a young female cancer patient (Stephy Tang) and her partner (Shawn Yue) experience supernatural occurrences after their love fails. Director Danny Pang and his brother Oxide established the Pang Brothers, which produced the 2002 hit horror film “The Eye.” The film has since inspired a Hollywood remake.

HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN IN NEUROMANCER: Thaindian.Com recycles a report from JoBlo.Com, stating that actor Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker in ATTACK OF THE CLONES and REVENGE OF THE SITH) will star in a film adaptation of NEUROMANCER, William Gibson’s 1984 seminal cyberpunk novel.

According to JoBlo.com, the 26-year-old Canadian actor will play the role of Case, an out-of-work computer hackerhired by a mysterious patron to participate in a seemingly impossible crime. Joseph Kahn is directing the film, which carries an impressive 70 million-dollar budget, reports Moviehole.

HONG KONG’S FILM COMEDY KING AMUSES AUDIENCES WITH HIS NEW SCI-FICTION MOTION PICTURE:

Instead of another Jim Carrey-like comedy, Hong Kong director and star Stephen Chow will present audiences this year with a science-fiction movie named “Chang Jiang Qi Hao”, or Yangtze River No. 7, but still in his typical slapstick style.  The movie is scheduled to screen in the mainland on January 31,a week ahead of the Spring Festival, Chinese lunar New Year, according to its official website. Chang Jiang Qi Hao features a story about how the lives of a poor father and his son are changed by odd visitors from another planet.

SCORSESE CRHONICLES HORROR FILM PRODUCER: SFGate.Com has an interview with Martin Scorsese on the subject of the recent documentary he narrated, “Val Lewton: The Man in the Shadows.” Lewton produced several classic, shadowy, subtle horror thrillers in the 1940s, including CAT PEOPLE and I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE.

He is pleading not guilty by reason of insanity. One would hope that people would not succumb to the post hoc, ergo propter hoc fallacy in cases like this…
