1408 to offer alternate ending on DVD

1408, which seems likely to remain the biggest-grossing horror film of 2007 despite unexpectedly high returns for HALLOWEEN, is set to hit video store shelves on October 2. Besides the Full Screen and Widescreen DVDs, there will also be a two-disc collector’s edition, which will contain both the theatrical cut and an extended director’s cut, with an alternate ending.
In addition to a couple of bonus features that will be on the single-disc DVDs, the collector’s edition will include five deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes look at the film, and audio commentary by director Mikael Hafstrom and writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.
